How to Get the Best Confetti Photos on Your Wedding Day

Confetti is one of our favourite parts of a wedding day. It’s colourful, fun and gives us the chance to capture some really natural reactions - plus, let's be honest, it looks great on film too!

Here are a few things we've learnt that help make a confetti moment really special.

Choose the right confetti

We always recommend biodegradable paper confetti. It floats in the air much better than dried petals, which tend to be quite small and fall too quickly.

The more it stays in the air, the more chance we have to capture those lovely moments as you walk through it.

Keep it simple

You don't need to spend ages putting confetti into little individual bags. We normally ask your guests to simply take a handful and hold it in their hands ready to throw.

It makes things much easier and means everyone is ready to go when you are.

Two rows are best

We usually organise your guests into two rows, leaving a clear path down the middle for you to walk through.

We'll get everyone organised while you have a little moment to yourselves after the ceremony. Then, once everyone's ready, you can make your way through the confetti towards us.

Look up and enjoy it!

As you walk through, keep looking up and enjoy the moment. Confetti will go everywhere - that's part of the fun!

If you'd like to, stop for a kiss part way through. There's no need to worry about looking at the camera or doing anything perfectly. Just enjoy it together.

When should you have your confetti?

We usually recommend doing your confetti straight after the ceremony, while all your guests are still together.

If you leave it until later, there's a good chance some people will have wandered off for a drink or headed elsewhere, making it much harder to get everyone together.

And don't worry about organising it all yourselves. We'll take care of your guests and get everything ready while you have a moment to yourselves.

Then all you need to do is walk, smile, look up and enjoy it.
