Hannah and Jonathon’s wedding at Combermere Abbey in Cheshire was a beautiful summer celebration filled with elegant surroundings, relaxed moments and plenty of time spent enjoying the day with their friends and family. From getting ready in the bridal preparation house to confetti in the Orchard Maze and photographs beside the Abbey and lake, the whole day made the most of everything this incredible Cheshire wedding venue has to offer.
Hannah spent the morning getting ready on site in the bridal preparation house with her mum and bridesmaids. The atmosphere was relaxed and full of excitement as everyone prepared for the ceremony. There were also some lovely personal moments during the morning, including Hannah receiving gifts from Jonathon and her bridesmaids. Her mum then helped her into her wedding dress before we captured some beautiful bridal portraits and photographs with the girls.
The ceremony took place in the Glasshouse at Combermere Abbey, creating a stunning setting filled with natural light and surrounded by the beautiful estate. A bridesmaid gave a reading during the ceremony, adding another personal touch to the service before Hannah and Jonathon were officially married.
After the ceremony, guests headed into the Orchard Maze where they gathered for a fun confetti moment. Hannah and Jonathon then led everyone through to the drinks reception, which took place around the Pavilion. With the beautiful Combermere Abbey grounds surrounding them, it was the perfect opportunity for everyone to relax, catch up and enjoy a drink together.
While the guests enjoyed the reception, we took Hannah and Jonathon away for some time together. We headed towards the Abbey and the lake for a relaxed couples photo shoot, making the most of the beautiful Cheshire countryside and historic surroundings. Rather than spending hours away from their guests, we kept the session short and natural, giving them some time together while still allowing them to enjoy the majority of their wedding day.
Back at the reception, the celebrations continued with lawn games including cornhole and Jenga. These relaxed games gave everyone another chance to enjoy the grounds and created plenty of natural opportunities for photographs of guests having fun together before the wedding breakfast.
As the afternoon moved towards the evening, we took Hannah and Jonathon out for one final short couples photo shoot before the dancing began. It was a lovely opportunity to capture a few more photographs in the changing evening light before they headed back to join their guests and begin the party.
From the emotional bridal preparations and beautiful Glasshouse ceremony to the Orchard Maze confetti, lake-side portraits and lawn games, Hannah and Jonathon’s Combermere Abbey wedding was relaxed, personal and full of genuine moments. It was a brilliant example of how much variety this stunning Cheshire wedding venue offers, all while allowing a couple to enjoy their wedding day rather than spending it posing for photographs.
